We woke up and watched conference the next morning. After hearing the good word we went to get some lunch at a Chinese place in Holladay called Mountain City. Brian and Heidi met up with us after he got off work. There is a funny lady that works there that tells you exactly how she feels, even if it is her first time meeting you. We asked her to take a picture for us but she had the camera facing the wrong way. Hence the picture that follows. We all couldn't stop laughing!
Then after saying goodbye to everyone, Spencer and I went and played our first game of golfing this year. It was really windy, but pretty and sunny. We both didn't do so great, but we will get better as the year goes on. I still feel like I did better than last year. I think I only lost two balls? That is really good for me! We are planning on going at least five times this year so we will see what happens. I really like the new clubs I got for Christmas though. It is helping me improve my game, one step at a time.
We got home just in time for Spencer to go to Priesthood Session with his uncles and brother that were left in town. I headed downtown with Heidi to see the new City Creek Center. It was packed! We should have known that it was going to be. The women all went shopping while the men were gone. We just looked around at the crazy new neon, 80s style. I think that I like some of the things, but haven't quiet decided what to think about it yet. I do want one pair of colored skinny jeans. They will have to wait until I get paid again. Anyone want to go shopping before I go to Europe? I want to be able to fit in awhile I am there and not stick out like a sore thumb. Then we headed back to the Blaze game. Brian is doing an internship with them and gets two season tickets for the whole year. Heidi decided to take me with her this time. Our section was the one chosen for free popcorn. When I say free popcorn I mean it fell from the ceiling and got all over us and in our hair. It looked so cool coming down though, it was worth the mess if you ask me. We were so cool (because we knew Brian of course), we even got to go down on the floor and meet all of the people that he works with. They were all so nice and willing to show us around. This is a picture of Brian hard at work.
This is us being the cool people! I finally got a picture with Torch. I have been a Blaze fan since I can remember and would always beg people to take me to games. I always see him and think it is a little kid thing to get a picture with him. I always told myself once I have kids it won't be so weird and I can ask for a picture. Being a cool person, I decided to stop caring and just ask for one. It was like a dream come true! It may sound really cheesy, but it was was for me. Thanks Brian for helping me become a cool person just like you!
Spencer was visiting his mission friends downtown when the game was over. He waited a little bit longer so that he could give us a ride to our cars. Then we headed to McDonald's for some dinner and ice cream. Yes it was almost 12 o'clock at this time but we still hadn't eaten dinner and I love McDonald's. We came home and talked about our night while eating our dinner in bed. What a perfect finish to such a busy day.
You really are a night owl! K, on my update feed thing I see this big picture of an Asian woman and I'm thinkin, "Who the heck's blog is this with this picture?" I was laughing when I saw it was yours and why the picture was up. Haha! Classic!
ReplyDeleteGeez Jan! You're a crazy woman! But there's nothing different, you always try to shove everything fun into a day. I miss you guys when I read posts like this!
ReplyDeletePretty much I was going to exactly what Linds said... I really miss these days of being crazy, staying up late and running around being busy. Andy and I are such lazy bums and the only time we are "busy" doing stuff is when we come to Utah and hang out with my girls. Haha! But it looks like you had so much fun - I love Conference weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was such a fun night. You beat me to blogging about it, too. Haha...I can't remember a time I laughed as hard as I did when that lady tried to take our picture. I am laughing about it now.
